In this article, let’s look at some general concepts surrounding criminals and their weapons training. Specifically, if you want to defeat a criminal, you’ll need to do some martial arts research … army training. Read on — it’s not what you think….

Would you like a scary, but true fact?

Did you know that most gun-carrying criminals practice with their guns more than the police do?

Why?

Because these crooks believe that the police are spending all of their spare time on the shooting range. The criminals feel that they need to practice, because of all the time the police are spending training.

Unfortunately, the police aren’t spending the time that the crooks think they are. So, these crooks are over-training — something that martial artists know all about.

Would you like to know where a huge percentage of these criminals are getting their start with guns?

They learned to shoot ‘properly’ in basic training. (No, I am not implying that all army folk become criminals.)

Now, if you were worried about these criminals and their guns, wouldn’t it make sense to find out how to deal with them effectively?

One place I’d start would be to look and see how their enemy deal with the gun tactics of ‘your’ army.

In other words, if you live in the U.S., find out the standard procedure that other armies use to defeat an American soldier with a gun.

If you live in Italy, then find out how the enemy of Italy’s army deals with Italian army tactics. In Russia, you’d look for enemies of the Russian army.

What I am advising is that you don’t reinvent the wheel
If someone has already figured out how to deal with your army, and the crooks are getting training in the army, then you need to see how ‘your’ army, and ultimately your criminals, can be dealt with.

Does this make sense?

It boils down to, “If you are my enemy, then I will see what one of your other enemies has already used effectively against you.”

It’s early in the morning 3 am here as I type, but tonight at around 7.30 pm I will be becoming a Salvation Army soldier. It is a serious commitment and one that I am happy to do.

Being a Salvation Army soldier means that I get to wear the uniform when I am going to church and doing volunteer jobs for my corp. Being in uniform is going to be both a privilege and also a bit scary as I feel a lot of eyes of the public will be on me.

I have made this step as I want to be committed and put my time and energy into something worthwhile and I feel the Salvation Army is going to be my church of choice for life.

As a soldier in the Salvation Army I will be given a mentor to instruct me in the things of God and I will be given jobs to do that will bring more purpose and meaning to my life. As a Salvation Army Soldier I will be proud to wear my uniform and be a helping hand in a society that needs plenty of helpers.

One of the rules of becoming one is that I have to give up drinking alcohol which isn’t a real problem for me as I don’t drink it very often. I will be proud as a soldier to go without when other people I might know during this festive season might be indulging.

I look forward to the work I want to do with youth and I look forward the passing on some of my lessons I have learned in life to some of those young people. I feel that I have a lot to give in that area.

I am excited and happy I have made my choice to put on the uniform and become accountable as one of the Salvation Army soldiers in Sydney Australia.

I have interviewed an expert about Army Rangers to find out about the career. I must caveat my answers by saying; I am not and never will be an Army Ranger as women are not allowed to be Rangers. I learned about Rangers 28 years ago as a Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC) Cadet going through my initial officer training

The Army Ranger’s favorite time of day, I think like most Soldiers, Rangers look forward to meal time, or rest time after a mission. What I think is the Army Ranger’s main piece of gear is His weapon. Rangers wear the US Army uniform appropriate for the environment in which they are operating. There survival skills as Rangers are trained to operate in all environments, temperate, desert, mountain and tropical. They know how to live off the land when necessary.

Well their training takes 9 weeks during which they must navigate, survive, and conduct clandestine combat missions in mountains, deserts, swamps, and temperate terrain. There really aren’t different types of Army Rangers. All Rangers go through the same training. Rangers have different ranks based on normal military hierarchy. Being an Army Ranger is just like if you were a pilot. You have to go though all the training. A ranger is just a different part of the army. Some will climb up the ladder and one day run there unit while others get up the ladder faster and choose to just right out orders.

What other armed forces do Army Rangers fight with? Rangers will fight with any joint combat unit as required by the mission. That includes but is not limited to regular Army, Marines, Navy Seals, Special Operations teams and foreign nation Special Operations teams. When they get there missions just like anyone else they still have to carry out there orders. It dose not matter what other forces that they have to fight it is just the mission that they get.

Army Rangers do have somethings to help them know where they are. Rangers can navigate from terrain features and maps. Today they may use some variation of the global positioning system, but they can operate without GPS anywhere in the world. When they go into training they learn this and they even go out in the woods or where every there co tells them to go and they are given a map or directors on how to get back and they need to look out for some things that are put in the way to stop them from getting where they need to go.

A usual day for an Army Ranger is not what you think. Currently there is no typical day for a Ranger. The units at war have different challenges every day. The units in the States are training to be ready for their next tour in combat operations and the ones in combat are just trying to get though there missions with having anyone in there unit get killed or taken if there missions tends to go right or not. They are like everyone else that was sent to combat. All they want to do is come home to their love ones safe and sound.

Waiver approval is dependent on several factors. One of the factors is how badly that particular military service needs your particular warm body at this particular point in time.

Two of the active duty services are currently overmanned (i.e., they have more people on active duty than Congress says they can have). Those two active duty services are the Air Force and the Navy. Because of this, both services currently get more applicants for enlistment than they are allowed to take. So,they get to “pick and choose” and only take the *most qualified.*

Too put it bluntly, the Navy (and Air Force) currently have thousands of more applicants each year than they are allowed to accept. Your application requires a criminal history waiver (even if not convicted, you were arrested/charged). Hundreds of other qualified applicants don’t require such a waiver. Who do you think the Navy is going to choose?

I should mention here that when it comes to waivers, the military services don’t much care whether or not it resulted in a conviction. They don’t care whether charges were dropped due to some technicality, or due to someone refusing to press charges. They care more about whether or not you actually committed the offense alleged, and not whether you were charged or not due to a legal loophole.

By your own admission, you did commit these two offenses. You were in possession of cocaine, but got out of it because the cop made a “booboo” during the arrest. You committed the offense of domestic battery, but got out of it because your wife refused to press charges. From the military’s point of view, you committed these two offenses. Waivers for the Air Force or Navy are both unlikely.

The Army and Marines are having a harder time recruiting than the Navy and Air Force. While there are no promises, these two services are your best bet. First of all, the fact that they committed a criminal offense will likely require a waiver. Because you use the term “soldier,” I assume you’re talking about the Army? (Each service has different standards).

“Probation” is considered (by the Army) to be a “civil restraint,” because it limits a person’s ability to do certain things and/or travel to certain areas without permission. The Army regulation requires at least a 30 day waiting period, following removal from probation before a waiver request can even be processed.

Chances of getting a waiver for the active duty Air Force or active duty Coast Guard are slim. The Air Force is reducing in size, so they aren’t granting that many waivers (they have a waiting list for those who want to join, so they don’t need to approve very many waivers), and one of the Coast Guard’s responsibilities is drug enforcement (as you know), so they rarely waiver drug offenses.

If he gets probation, (in most cases), he won’t be allowed to join any of the services until his probation is over. There are some exceptions to this.

His chances of getting a waiver (assuming no other offenses) differ, based on the services, and what their current recruiting needs are. In order (easiest to hardest), it would probably be:

Army National Guard, Army Reserves, Active Duty Army, Marine Corps Reserves, Active Duty Marines, Navy Reserves, Active Duty Navy, Coast Guard Reserves, Active Duty Coast Guard, Air Force National Guard, Air Force Reserves, and Active Duty Air Force.

Question: Do I need to be stationed in the United States to get an army loan?

The answer is no. In fact, you can get an army loan from any country in the world as long as you have access to either the internet or a phone. Applications are often available on line or even over the phone. What’s more, they take very little time to fill out and the answer is usually back to you very quickly. From there, you can have the money sent wherever you need it: to your family in the States, to you at your base, or to someone else you need to get the money to via Western Union, mail, or even direct deposit if you so desire. Question: Do I have to be currently serving to get an armed forces loan?

No you do not. Army loans are for currently active and retired military personnel. If you have served and are in good standing, then you are eligible for these quick and easy loans that are a great benefit to those who served.

Question: Can my wife take out the loan for me?

Actually, it depends. Army Loans, while only for those in the military or retired from it, can be had by those holding the power of attorney while you are away. If you are in the Marine Corps, Air Force, or even the National Guard and are away from home and have given power of attorney over to your wife, then she can absolutely apply for an receive an army loan on your behalf.

Question: How are army loans paid back?

That depends on what kind of terms you got and from whom you took the loan. With an army loan, though, you do have the added benefit of having payments removed from your paycheck each time you get one. Then you need not worry about sending in a payment or being on time when you are out of the country or in the midst of a move.

Army loans are available at reasonable interest rates if you know your facts. National Guard Loans or Air Force Loans are a great way for military members to get their needs met, especially in emergencies.

According to some sources UK army recruitment has dropped in recent months. There are those who attribute this to the war in Iraq and the troubles that both the US and the UK have been experiencing there. This means that recruiting more soldiers is becoming a priority in the UK. The UK army recruitment website is very comprehensive with links to all the information that would be army recruit might need - this includes not only application information but plenty of information on what they might expect if they are chosen to join the army.

The army recruitment and training division is split into a number of different groups which are used to ensure that army recruits are trained to the right standard for their particular place in the British army. There are a number of different units which specialize in the aspects of particular types of army training. Thus the army undertakes not only to care for the troops’ welfare and education, but also the education and welfare of their families. There is even a confidential support line for soldiers and their families who may be experiencing problems that are not actually part of the job.

If you pay attention to the New York Times, the leadership of the Democratic Party, or the left wing pundits filling the airwaves, you get the impression that the U.S. Army is struggling to find men and women willing to volunteer in the service of their country. Recently released statistics, though, seem to contradict that assumption.

When the Army failed to meet its recruiting goals a couple of years ago, many saw it as a sign that young people in America were staying away from military service because of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many complained that we did not have enough soldiers to meet our global commitments. Congress responded by raising the statutory limit on troop levels, as if changing the number on paper would somehow magically produce new soldiers to fight the war on terror.

The worry about a withering Army, however, seems to have been misplaced. According to the Washington Times, the Army is on track to meet its goal of 80,000 new recruits for the fiscal year that ends September 30. At this point in the recruiting cycle, the Army has surpassed its goal of 70,000 new recruits with 72,997 signing up so far. And the Associated Press has reported that the Army is having its best recruiting year since 1997, with similar success expected in 2007.

It is important to note that the Army is the branch of service suffering the largest number of killed and wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. The recently released statistics seem to undermine the belief that the war on terror is driving young men and women away from uniformed service.

Still, there will be those who point out that the Army has raised its age limit for new recruits from 38 to 42. But these critics fail to understand that not every job in the Army requires someone under the age of 25. Not every soldier will fight in the infantry. And those new recruits who are older than the average enlistee are still required to meet the Army’s physical fitness standards. It would be foolish for the Army to exclude Americans who want to serve their country based solely on their age.

Others will point out that the Army has increased benefits such as college tuition reimbursement and enlistment bonuses. But what private company doesn’t sweeten the pot by offering incentives to potential employees? The Army is no different, and with an all-volunteer force must compete against the private sector for its employees.

And the Army is not alone when it comes to recruiting. The Navy and Air Force are also on target to meet their recruiting goals. So is the Marine Corps, which has responsibility for the deadly Al-Anbar province, including the cities of Ramadi and Fallujah, in western Iraq. The Washington Times reports that the Marine Corps will meet its goal of 32,701 new recruits without any increase in benefits or change in enlistment requirements.

By focusing on statistics for new recruits, however, the left misses an important fact. Retention statistics, which account for the number of soldiers who agree to reenlist, are at an all-time high. More soldiers are choosing to stay in the Army, even after multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Even more remarkably, retention numbers are highest for units who are forward deployed in combat zones!

Could it be that the Army is an attractive option for young job seekers? Could it be that skill training (there are over 200 different jobs in the Army), college tuition benefits, health care coverage, and a regular paycheck are attracting young men and women to military service? Could it be that there are patriotic citizens in this country with a genuine desire to serve their nation in its time of need?

The truth is, recruiting and retention numbers can be explained by all of these factors. Raising the age limit for new recruits has opened the door to military service for a new segment of the population. College tuition benefits and skill training attract young people who might otherwise have difficulty marketing themselves to the private sector. And men and women with a sincere desire to serve their country are signing up in the face of renewed violence in Afghanistan and an unrelenting insurgency in Iraq.

In their effort to push as much negativity as possible about the war on terror, the liberal left has lost focus on the fact that the United States is locked in a life-and-death struggle for its very survival. And that loss of focus has obscured the truth that for more reasons than not, Americans are enlisting and staying in the service of their nation.
